Backstory

Back in 2016, right at the start of the Sophomore → Junior summer, my family moved from St.Louis to Texas. It couldn’t have come at a worse time - I was just starting to become a little popular for the first time. Of course, as soon as I moved I was pretty much out of everyones life back home. I had my best friend at the time, but even that relationship faded with time.

As the cherry on top of all of that, school wasn’t out yet in Texas. Even after it was, there aren’t many kids hanging around outside in southern Texas. So outside of my family and like 1 person, I pretty much had no one to talk to for that first summer in Texas.

Don’t get me wrong, I hung out with my cousin all the time so it’s not like I was completely alone. But I still spent a lott of time alone, whether in my room or skating around the neighborhood.

So with all this information, you can clearly see why I wrote this song lol.

Fun fact: this was actually the very first song of mine to top 1000 plays, all the way back in the Soundcloud days.
