Who Is Callmesolstice ?
Callmesolstice is a Hip Hop and R&B artist from St.Louis, MO. They began rapping at the age of 14, and started by recording songs during an afterschool program and releasing them on Soundcloud.
Then in 2015, due to some financial troubles, they moved with their family to San Antonio, Texas. That’s where they met the Halfboyzz (now known as Pannetone.png), a collective of artists that Solstice would grow and collaborate with to this day.
After graduating highschool, Solstice continued making music and performing around San Antonio and Austin. In 2020, Solstice got their own place in San Marcos, TX, where things really began to pick up.
As the restrictions started rolling back, Solstice experienced a string of big career moments, notably:
Opening the last leg of the Price - CLRD tour
Several performances at 2021 SXSW Music Festival
A short-lived management deal
Unfortunately while their career was on the rise, Solstice was battling homelessness and hunger and couldn’t continue to travel around the country promoting their music. It took a couple of years to get their affairs back in order, but in 2023 they moved from San Antonio TX to Phoenix AZ to pursue a degree in audio engineering from the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences.
In 2024, they graduated from the CRAS with a 4.0 GPA and Letter of Recommendation signed by the Director of Education, Robert Brock.
And now, Solstice is still making music; in fact they’re dropping more than ever! The Year of Sol is in full effect with monthly releases, and much more content planned to bring the knowledge Solstice has been curating to the rest of the independent music scene. Sign up for their mailing list so you don’t miss out on any of the exciting things they’ve got planned!
